Until 29 September 2025, Europ\u00e4isch-Iranische Handelsbank Aktiengesellschaft based in Hamburg (hereinafter referred to as \"eihbank\") was not subject to any restrictions under German law or European Union law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On 29 September 2025, the Council decided to reintroduce a number of restrictive measures in connection with Iran's nuclear proliferation activities. These had been suspended with the entry into force of the Joint Plan of Action (JCPoA or Iran nuclear deal) in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result, all funds and economic resources owned, held or controlled by eihbank must be frozen (Art. 23 para. 2 sentence 1 Regulation (EU) No. 267\/2012). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
eihbank is currently working very closely with the Deutsche Bundesbank on the next steps to be taken with regard to this new situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
