About Us

eihbank has been operating for more then 50 years in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg, located located in the historic Hamburg Kontorhaus district, which, together with the warehouse district opposite, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015.

Since our early days we have assumed the role as a specialised bank for international business with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the world. History of eihbank

1971 – establishment of Deutsch-Iranische Handelsbank as a share company in Hamburg

1990 – bank moves to its newly built own premises (designed by Professor Gottfried Böhm)

1992 – after business expansion the name of the bank is changed to Europäisch-Iranische Handelsbank AG

2005 – eihbank being the first foreign bank to open a branch in Iran, in the free trade zone of Kish Island

2008 – change of the Tehran Representative Office into a branch
