eihbank has been successfully supporting foreign trade transactions with Iran since 1971.

Since 2011, EU foreign trade with Iran has been subject to a large number of regulations that apply to certain individuals and companies as well as certain goods and services. This allows employees to quickly develop into specialists in this area within eihbank.

eihbank always takes strict compliance with these regulations very seriously. For this reason, eihbank has set up an internal competence centre that carefully monitors adherence to all compliance and sanctions regulations on a transaction-by-transaction basis.

As a German financial institution, eihbank is routinely audited by several supervisory authorities for compliance with regulations. In this context, the processes applied were regularly emphasised positively.

In addition, eihbank's competence team has developed its own training concept on this topic and regularly presents it in internal and external training courses. This means that eihbank's specialist expertise is also shared with the Iranian correspondent banks. This enriches European-Iranian foreign trade expertise on both sides and leads to a significant improvement in customer service with regard to the processing of letters of credit for exporters and importers.

Company account management (FKV)

Corporate Account Management is the first point of contact for national and international customers of the eihbank on all questions relating to accounts and payment transactions.

In addition to customer service, which is very demanding due to the exciting business environment, the tasks also include checking documents as part of account management, KYC updating and processing customer payment orders.

The employees are also responsible for online banking and other issues relating to account management.

Organisation

The core tasks in the area of general organisation at eihbank are very diverse and varied. In addition to the tasks of the mailroom, telephone switchboard and messenger service, they also include driving services, catering and event support.

Additional tasks such as archiving, managing contracts and editing the company manual round off the diverse range of tasks and require the organisational, creative and social skills and competencies as well as the personal commitment of the employees. These are decisive factors for their own success and the success of the team in completing their tasks. We therefore rely on teamwork, commitment and independence.

Compliance/AML/Financial Fraud

The employees in this area are particularly involved in monitoring the implementation of legal and regulatory requirements and providing advice on legal or regulatory issues

The main tasks in this area also include drawing up and updating the compliance strategy, analyses and work instructions, planning and implementing control measures and providing training on compliance issues. At the same time, employees in this area are responsible for the prevention of money laundering and criminal offences and check the results of automated and manual monitoring. They are also responsible for implementing research measures and preparing suspicious activity reports and carry out risk analyses, from which recommendations for action and security measures are derived. Due to eihbank's business area, the department is responsible for a key task in ensuring secure banking transactions with eihbank's various international contractual partners.

Correspondent Banking

The Correspondent Banking department looks after eihbank's network of national and international correspondent banks. The employees' tasks include the ongoing support of eihbank's banking partners in compliance with compliance and GW guidelines (AML/KYC). The creation of credit templates for the banking product portfolio with research and initial analyses of the financial circumstances is also part of the day-to-day business. The focus is also on providing solution-orientated support to other specialist departments in connection with issues relating to banking relationships.

The work in the Correspondent Banking department combines traditional market and back office activities. The focus is on direct contact with eihbank's customers and the binding and personal support of its partners, as well as the evaluation of AML/KYC documents and the analysis and assessment of financial reports. The Correspondent Bank department works very closely with the Market Credit department.

The activities in the Correspondent Banking department are varied and exciting. Daily contact with eihbank's international partners offers development opportunities on many levels. For example, language and cultural skills are encouraged, as is a confident handling of regulatory requirements with regard to eihbank's international banking business. Visits to partner banks and new correspondents in Germany and abroad are also part of the programme. Further training opportunities are regularly offered and expressly encouraged.

eihbank's lending business

eihbank focuses primarily on trade between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Germany and other countries of the European Union. Among other things, we offer the following credit facilities and services within the scope of our possibilities:

Letters of credit and guarantees

In recent years, eihbank has played an important role in the import and export letter of credit business and offers its customers the opening of import letters of credit and the issuing of guarantees - for example bid bonds, advance payment guarantees and performance bonds.

Confirmation and forfaiting business

The traditional financing business is based on export letters of credit. Within the scope of its credit limits, eihbank is able to confirm sight letters of credit and to confirm and discount claims for payment under letters of credit. This discounting service is offered in order to provide our customers with liquidity as soon as the letter of credit documents are issued.

Buyer's credit

In order to support the Iranian economy financially when purchasing supplies from abroad, eihbank provides a special financial instrument for project financing with a maximum term of 5 years, with trilateral agreements between eihbank as lender, the Iranian buyer as borrower and the letter of credit issuing bank as guarantor for the credit line.

Direct financing

Subject to a credit check and appropriate collateralisation, eihbank grants its customers direct financing facilities. We also work together with other German banks, for example in the financing of commercial property.

Human Resources

The personnel department of the eihbank is responsible for all personnel-related tasks. Its tasks include administrative tasks such as payroll accounting, personnel administration and development and deals exclusively with personnel issues. A central task is the recruitment of staff to cover personnel requirements and fill current vacancies. For employees and managers of the eihbank it is a central point of contact. The HR department of the eihbank is therefore an attractive unit in the Bank, diverse tasks in the personnel area.

Internal Audit

A modern understanding of internal auditing sees the experts not only as an auditing and control body, but increasingly in an advisory role to the management and supervisory bodies. The work of Internal Audit is so exciting and challenging because many eyes are on Internal Audit and the expectations of the audited areas and the Management Board are high. It is not just about reviewing internal workflows and processes, but above all about preventing and avoiding a wide range of risks for the Bank. The most challenging, but at the same time most fascinating aspect of the job is that Internal Audit employees are constantly dealing with new topics. The job is never boring and always varied. The people and topics are extremely diverse and, at the same time, every single employee in Internal Audit has a great deal of responsibility. This is because the results go directly to the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board. The mixture of new challenges and responsibility is the exciting thing about this job. Enjoying communication and dealing with people, and sometimes perhaps also a certain sensitivity towards colleagues and the information gained, are good prerequisites for interdisciplinary dialogue with colleagues and teamwork.

IT Department

The IT department of the eihbank operates and supports the entire IT infrastructure and the core applications of the company with a highly competent and motivated team. Bank. The regulations of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and other industry-specific regulations must be observed. Risk management

As a German financial institution, eihbank must manage its risks, particularly in the area of risk management, in such a way that it can operate successfully on the market and secure its market presence in the long term. In addition to complying with existing regulations, this also requires compliance with all quantitative indicators. This must be ensured within the framework of high-quality risk management. The minimum requirements for risk management (MaRisk) provide long-term support in achieving this objective. Based on Section 25a of the German Banking Act (KWG), MaRisk provides a holistic framework for the management of all material risks at eihbank. MaRisk sets out a principle-orientated framework, but at the same time gives eihbank scope for individual implementation. Various opening clauses provided for by law also ensure that banks such as eihbank can implement all requirements flexibly.

In addition to MaRisk, the banking supervisory requirements for IT (BAIT) the statutory requirements of Section 25a KWG. eihbank uses this as a guideline for the appropriate technical and organisational equipment of its IT systems, taking particular account of information security requirements and an appropriate, institution-specific emergency concept.

Risk management employees have in-depth knowledge of supervisory law.
